TUNIS, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian President Kais Saied announced on Thursday that Tunisia is prepared to enhance cultural cooperation with Iraq.

Saied made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, as reported by the Tunisian presidency.

During the discussion, Saied highlighted Tunisia's commitment to strengthening cultural exchanges and developing mechanisms for bilateral cooperation, particularly through the establishment of cultural centers in both Tunisia and Iraq.

He further underscored the importance of culture in promoting enlightened thought and combating extremism, stating that "culture is a fortress for societies and an intellectual bridge for rapprochement between peoples."
