TOKYO, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A mini truck collided with a daycare transport van at an intersection in Rokunohe of Japan's Aomori Prefecture on Monday, killing three and injuring four others, according to local police.

The accident happened around 9:00 a.m. local time at a crossroads. Three elderly passengers in the van were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead from severe injuries.

Another passenger in the van and three others in the mini truck suffered injuries, according to local police.

The prefectural police were investigating the details of the crash. Enditem
