TUNIS, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A total of 13 people, including 11 Italian tourists, were injured on Monday after a tour bus veered off the road in the southern suburbs of Tunis, the private radio station Mosaique FM reported.

"The accident occurred this morning when a tourism bus, carrying 11 Italian tourists, in addition to the driver and the tour guide, veered off the road in Bouficha town coming from Sousse province in east-central Tunisia," the radio station quoted Moez Triaa, spokesman for the Civil Protection Department as saying.

According to Triaa, the driver lost control of the bus near Bouficha as the road became slippery after rain.

Triaa said the injured have been transferred to hospitals for necessary treatments, adding that no serious injuries were reported. Enditem
