ULAN BATOR, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The 19th edition of the "Green Days of Autumn" harvest fair is currently taking place in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, as the country seeks to bolster its domestic food production.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the municipal government of Ulan Bator, the week-long event began on Monday.

Its goals include enhancing food supply, supporting national production, and facilitating the swift delivery of farmers' best products and fresh vegetables to urban consumers.

Hundreds of farmers, herders, and companies operating in the small and medium manufacturing sector from all 21 provinces are participating.

Given that Mongolia's economy heavily relies on mining exports, promoting the development of the food and agricultural sectors is seen as a crucial step toward economic diversification. Enditem
