EU to provide 1.2 mln euros for Myanmar's flood relief

YANGON, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) has allocated up to 1.2 million euros in humanitarian aid to assist people severely impacted by Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar, the state-run daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday.

The EU has provided 2.2 million euros in humanitarian aid to support people affected across several Southeast Asian countries.

Of the total, up to 1.2 million euros will be for Myanmar's humanitarian responses, 650,000 euros for Vietnam, 200,000 euros for the Philippines and 150,000 euros for Laos.

In Myanmar, 419 people have died in flood-related accidents as of Tuesday morning, official data showed. Enditem
