HANOI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam plans to invest in a 1,540 km long north-south high-speed railway with a total investment of around 67.34 billion U.S. dollars, Vietnam News Agency cited the Ministry of Transport as reporting on Wednesday.

The railway, with an expected design speed of 350 km per hour, will include 23 passenger stations and five freight ones connected to key cargo hubs.

It will start from capital Hanoi, pass through 20 provinces and cities, and end in southern Ho Chi Minh City.

The ministry will present the investment policy to the National Assembly's general meeting next month.

The high speed railway is expected to complete its construction by 2035, according to the implementation plan. Enditem
