BEIRUT, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Israel Defense Forces Spokesman Daniel Hagari said Friday that the army has attacked the main headquarters of Hezbollah, located under residential buildings in the heart of Dahieh, the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital Beirut.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's al-Jadeed TV channel confirmed that around ten successive airstrikes hit Hezbollah's headquarters in Dahieh. TV footage showed smoke rising above the targeted Hezbollah site.

The intense attacks also resulted in the demolition of six buildings and massive damage to neighboring buildings, according to the local TV channel.

Israeli media outlets reported that the attack was aimed at Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Enditem
