SANTIAGO, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Universidad de Chile's Fabian Hormazabal and Marcelo Morales were among four uncapped players named in Chile's squad on Friday for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Colombia.

Winger Hormazabal and left-back Morales joined Colo-Colo forward Lucas Cepeda and Leon midfielder Luciano Cabral as newcomers for the matches in Santiago on October 10 and Barranquilla five days later.

But there was no place in the squad for Southampton striker Ben Brereton Diaz or Racing Club goalkeeper Gabriel Arias, who failed to impress in Chile's defeats to Argentina and Bolivia in September.

Also absent were veterans Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal. Udinese forward Sanchez continues to struggle with a calf injury while Colo-Colo midfielder Vidal has not represented the Roja since September last year.

Chile is currently ninth in the 10-team South American qualifying zone standings with just one win from eight games.
