PRAGUE, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Czech main opposition party Action of Dissatisfied Citizens (ANO) won 8 out of the 27 seats in this year's elections for one-third of the Senate seats.

ANO grabbed two seats in the first round held a week ago and six in the second round held this Friday and Saturday, according to official results published by the Czech Statistical Office on Saturday.

The five-party government coalition as a whole won 15 seats, of which, 5 seats were obtained by the ruling Civic Democratic Party (ODS).

The Senate is the upper house of the Czech Parliament. It has 81 senators with a term of six years. One-third of the total is elected every two years. Nearly 170 candidates have registered to run for this year's elections, with the voter turnout at 17.54 percent in the second round.
