BEIRUT/GAZA -- Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed in the Israeli airstrikes targeting the militant group's command headquarters a day earlier in Dahieh, Beirut's southern suburbs.

In a statement, the group mourned Nasrallah, describing him as "a great martyr" and "a heroic, bold, brave, wise, insightful, and faithful leader" for nearly 30 years, who lately led "the battle for Palestine, Gaza, and the oppressed Palestinian people." SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group claimed on Saturday that it had launched a missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv in Israel.

In a statement aired by the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, the group's military spokesman Yahya Sarea said a "ballistic missile" was fired at Ben Gurion Airport "upon the arrival" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who returned to the country on Saturday after addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. TEHRAN -- Iran's flag carrier Iran Air said Saturday that all its flights to the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, located in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, had been canceled until further notice.

Iran Air Spokesman Hesam Qorbanali announced the flight cancellation in an interview with the official news agency IRNA, adding the time for resumption of the flights would be announced later. (Iran-Flight-Cancelation)

BEIRUT -- At least 23 people were killed and 65 others injured on Saturday in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military sources.
