TEHRAN, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Iran hosted a reception on Saturday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The event, held on Saturday in Tehran, drew nearly 500 attendees, including Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu, senior Iranian officials, diplomatic envoys, and representatives from the Chinese community in Iran.

In his address, Cong emphasized the significant achievements of the PRC over the past 75 years across various fields. He also praised the strong partnership between China and Iran, highlighting that it is founded on shared historical experiences and nurtures deep friendships.

More than 53 years of diplomatic ties between China and Iran have led to continuous exchanges and cooperation, benefiting both countries and enhancing regional stability, the Chinese ambassador added.

Cong further stated that his travels across Iran have strengthened his belief that the two countries, which have historically learned from one another along the Silk Road, are now mutually enriching each other through their high-quality collaboration on the Belt and Road Initiative.

He also reiterated China's commitment to collaborating with Iran to promote the spirit of the Silk Road and strengthen bilateral relations.

Rasoul Mohajer, Iran's deputy foreign minister for Economic Affairs, read a congratulatory message from Iranian Vice President Shina Ansari, who extended warm wishes on this significant anniversary.

The message said that in the past 75 years, China has achieved "great, steady, and significant accomplishments," benefiting not only its own people but also the international community.

The Iranian diplomat also highlighted that China has offered an independent development model that encourages other nations to utilize their domestic resources and establish their own development paths based on their unique principles and strengths.

He concluded by asserting that regardless of the evolving international landscape, the commitment of the leaders of both countries to enhance bilateral relations will pave the way for a "shared and bright" future, marking a new chapter in their long-standing friendship. Enditem
