HANOI, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- British universal bank and financial services group HSBC has maintained its forecast for Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 6.5 percent for both this year and next year, according to its Asian Economics Quarterly report released on Monday.
HSBC noted that Vietnam's economic recovery continues to firm up as the year of 2024 progresses.
"We believe the potential upside risks can offset the temporary economic disruptions from Typhoon Yagi," said the report.
The bank has kept its inflation forecast for Vietnam at 3.6 percent in 2024, well below the State Bank of Vietnam's target ceiling of 4.5 percent.
For 2025, it has maintained the inflation forecast at 3 percent.
Last week, the Asian Development Bank projected a positive economic outlook for Vietnam, projecting its GDP growth at 6 percent in 2024 and 6.2 percent in 2025. Enditem
