DHAKA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The total number of mobile phone users in Bangladesh hit over 192 million at the end of August this year, showed the latest statistics of the country's telecom regulator.

According to data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the number of subscribers in the South Asian country reached 192.43 million in August 2024.

Currently, Bangladesh has four mobile companies, three of which are foreign-backed cell phone operators.

The number of subscribers of mobile operators, Grameen Phone, Robi Axiata, Banglalink Digital Communications and Teletalk Bangladesh, stood at 85.08 million, 58.36 million, 42.47 million and 6.53 million respectively at the end of August, the BTRC data showed.

Bangladesh had 190.81 million mobile phone subscribers at the end of 2023. Enditem
