ISLAMABAD, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan has signed four memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Malaysia to boost trade ties between the two countries, the commerce ministry said in a statement here.

Pakistan and Malaysia's Business Councils signed the MoUs to enhance cooperation in halal trade, the statement said on Thursday.

Apart from that, three agreements were also signed between Pakistani and Malaysian companies in the fields of meat distribution, buy now, pay later service and chemical manufacturing.

These agreements mark a step towards strengthening trade and business relations between the two countries, the statement added.

The agreements were made during the ongoing official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Pakistan.

Later addressing the Pakistan-Malaysia High Level Business Dialogue, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to offer the best possible facilities to the Pakistani and Malaysian business communities to boost their commercial activities.

He emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and highlighted the significance of collaboration between their business sectors for mutual prosperity, the prime minister's office said in a statement. Enditem
