Sri Lankan's All Share Price Index crosses 12,000-mark

COLOMBO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) crossed the 12,000-mark on Friday, CSE data shows.

The ASPI increased by 123.50 points to close at 12,053.49, CSE data shows.

The country's financial press stated that the ASPI crossed this milestone for the first time since July 3.

Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 increased by 1.7 percent to 3,543.22 points on Friday.

The market turnover was recorded at 2.8 billion rupees (9.49 million U.S. dollars.)

The ASPI measures the movements of the overall market, while the S&P SL20 follows the performance of 20 leading publicly traded companies listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. Enditem
