BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Huracan scored two late goals to keep their title hopes alive with a 3-1 home victory over Sarmiento in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.

Fernando Tobio struck in the 16th minute for the hosts but Ivan Morales equalized on the half hour.

De La Fuente restored his side's lead with a 77th-minute goal before Sarmiento's Lucas Acosta inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the first minute of stoppage time.

The result at El Palacio leaves Huracan second in the 28-team standings with 31 points, two points behind Velez Sarsfield. Sarmiento are 23rd with 18 points from 17 games.

In Friday's only other Primera Division fixture, Juan Meli and Manuel Palavecino scored in each half as Central Cordoba eased to a 2-0 away win over Union Santa Fe.

The result extended Central Cordoba's winning sequence to four games in the Primera Division and five across all competitions. Enditem
