ISLAMABAD, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday reaffirmed his country's commitment to support teachers for the future of the nation.
While extending his deepest gratitude to all teachers across Pakistan on the occasion of World Teachers' Day, the prime minister highlighted the noble mission of teachers in shaping destinies and promoting knowledge, saying teachers play a vital role in the training of young minds.
"A country's development is intrinsically tied to the education of its people, and it is through the tireless work of our teachers who instill the drive for progress and prosperity in our young generation," he said.
Calling teachers the architects of our future, Sharif said that their dedication is essential to the national goal of becoming a knowledge-based economy, adding that without their efforts, Pakistan cannot achieve the aspirations set as a nation.
He said that the government of Pakistan recognized the importance of a motivated and well-supported teaching workforce and will continue to invest in modern infrastructure and educational resources.
"Our goal is to create a high-performing educational system that empowers both our students and teachers to thrive in a rapidly changing world," the prime minister said. Enditem
