ZAGREB, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Croatian government has pledged comprehensive support to neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as the death toll from devastating rain-triggered flash floods climbs to 19.

In a statement on Saturday, the Croatian government announced that Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic had contacted his BiH counterpart, Borjana Kristo, to express condolences and offer assistance in managing the aftermath of the disaster.

The Croatian government deeply sympathizes with all BiH families affected by this tragedy and stands ready to provide assistance and solidarity during these difficult times, the statement said. Croatia has committed to offering aid through its Civil Protection services, fire brigades, police, military, and the Croatian Red Cross, depending on the specific needs of BiH.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton confirmed that 16 people, including a baby, have been killed in the municipality of Jablanica. Meanwhile, civil protection services in Central Bosnia Canton have reported three additional fatalities in Fojnica, located around 50 km from Sarajevo. Enditem
