MEXICO CITY, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Cruz Azul maintained their four-point lead at the top of Mexico's Liga MX standings on Saturday with a 3-0 home victory over Necaxa.
Alexis Gutierrez and Carlos Rotondi scored first-half goals before Lorenzo Faravelli completed the rout with a 63rd-minute strike.
The result leaves Cruz Azul with 28 points from 11 outings, four points ahead of second-placed Tigres UANL, who edged to a 1-0 home win over Puebla earlier in the day.
Necaxa are stuck on 13 points, having gone four games without a victory.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Chavez netted his first goal of the Apertura season as San Luis continued their impressive form with a 1-0 home win over Monterrey.
San Luis now have 20 points from 12 matches, a point behind Monterrey, who have not won since a 3-2 victory at Juarez on September 18. Enditem
