SANAA, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Leader of the Houthi group in Yemen Abdulmalik al-Houthi said on Sunday that 82 Houthi fighters have been killed in strikes by forces of the United States, Britain, and Israel over the year.

He made the remarks in a televised speech on Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, on the eve of the 1st anniversary of the Hamas attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

He said the death toll occurred during the past 12 months after his group started attacks against Israeli cities and ships in the Red Sea in support of Hamas against Israel amid the war in Gaza.

"The enemy's air and naval bombardment of our country since October 7 has been carried out in 774 attacks, resulting in 82 martyrs and 340 wounded," al-Houthi said.

Meanwhile, he said the group has launched "more than 1000 rocket, drone, and boat attacks against 193 Israel-linked ships."

In his speech, the Houthi leader also threatened to raise the level of escalation in support of people in Gaza and Lebanon. Enditem
