BAGHDAD -- Four Islamic State (IS) militants, including a senior group member, were killed in an airstrike on their hideout in Salahudin province, north of Baghdad, the Iraqi military reported on Tuesday.

The airstrike, conducted by Iraqi F-16 jet fighters on Monday, targeted an IS hideout based on intelligence reports in a rugged area near the town of al-Eith, according to a statement from the Security Media Cell, which is affiliated with the Iraqi Joint Operations Command. GAZA -- At least 24 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in central and southern Gaza on Tuesday, Palestinian sources said.

KAMPALA -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has said he is ready to mediate peace in the ongoing conflict in Sudan that has left thousands dead and millions displaced.

COLOMBO -- Over 40,000 dengue cases have been reported so far this year in Sri Lanka, according to the latest statistics released by the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) on Tuesday.
