Malaysia's national courier unveils commemorative stamps for World Post Day

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- National courier service provider Pos Malaysia unveiled a commemorative stamp to mark World Post Day on Wednesday.

The stamps feature illustrations of vehicles used by the courier as well as its services, it said in a statement.

Priced at 50.50 ringgit (11.79 U.S. dollars) each, the limited edition set comes in a folder consisting of a stamp sheet, a miniature sheet, a first-day cover envelope with a stamp, and a first-day cover envelope with a miniature sheet.

They will be available at all the couriers philatelic bureaus across the country and via its online merchandise shop.

Meanwhile, Pos Malaysia Chairman Syed Faisal Albar said the courier service noted the importance of marking World Post Day to bring awareness to the role the postal sector plays in people's and businesses' everyday lives and its contribution to social and economic development.

He also explained that the courier has expanded and diversified its services to keep up with new developments to remain relevant to the country's development and consumer demands.

"We now offer a variety of innovative products and services, ranging from end-to-end logistics, and aviation (ground handling), to retail and digital solutions. We have come a long way in our purpose of connecting people and businesses for a better tomorrow," he said. Enditem
