Bangladesh export up over 5 pct in Q1 of fiscal 2025

DHAKA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's export earning in the first quarter of the current 2024-25 fiscal year from July 2024 to June 2025 grew more than 5 percent year on year to over 11 billion U.S. dollars, according to official data released Wednesday.

The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data showed Bangladesh earned a total of 11.37 billion dollars from exports in July-September, compared to 10.82 billion dollars in the same period a year earlier.

Of the total earnings, EPB data showed the country's income from ready-made garment items stood at 9.29 billion dollars during the July-September period of the current fiscal year.

Exporters earned 3.5 billion dollars in September this year, posting a 6.78 percent rise year on year, according to the EPB.

Bangladesh has set its export target in the 2024-25 fiscal year at 50 billion dollars, including 40.48 billion dollars from ready-made garment products. Enditem
