ISLAMABAD, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of executive directors and alternate executive directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) affirmed the bank's continuous support to stabilize Pakistan's economy during its ongoing visit to the country, the Ministry for Economic Affairs of Pakistan said on Wednesday.

During a meeting with Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, the delegation assured support to the Pakistani government's agenda for implementing structural reforms and generating fiscal space, the ministry said in a statement.

"The meeting underscored the robust collaboration between the ADB and Pakistan, aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing economic stability in the country," the statement added.

During the meeting, Cheema underscored the positive effects of ongoing reforms, which have resulted in a stable currency, lower inflation, and an improved fiscal position.

He further outlined Pakistan's key priorities for ADB support, focusing on essential sectors such as climate action, infrastructure development, and social uplift, according to the statement released after the meeting.

The delegation is on Pakistan's visit from Oct. 6 to 12 for consultations with the government and key stakeholders to better align ADB's support with the government's priorities. Enditem
