HANOI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The per capita monthly income of Vietnamese people in the third quarter of this year was averaged at 7.6 million Vietnamese dong (306 U.S. dollars), up by 519,000 dong (21 dollars) year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office in its latest labor market report.

The average incomes of male and female workers stood at 8.7 million dong (350 dollars) and 6.5 million dong (262 dollars), respectively.

The average monthly income for workers in urban areas is 9.3 million dong (375 dollars) while this figure is 6.6 million dong (266 dollars) in rural areas.

During the cited period, most of the economic sectors reported increasing average income of laborers compared to the same period last year, local media reported.

The average income of a finance, banking and insurance employee was 12.7 million dong (512 dollars) per month while those working in the real estate sector have an average monthly income of 11.9 million dong (479 dollars) each.

Vietnam has 51.6 million employed workers in Q3, increasing by 244,600 people compared to the previous year. Of the labor force, 33 million or 63.9 percent are informal workers, according to the office. Enditem
