GAZA/JERUSALEM -- At least 28 Palestinians were killed and more than 54 others injured Thursday afternoon in an Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced persons in the central Gaza Strip, said the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on social media platform X that its teams responded to the casualties following the Israeli army's targeting of Rafida School located near the PRCS headquarters in the city of Deir al-Balah. (Gaza-Israeli Airstrike-Casualties)

BEIRUT -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said on Thursday that an Israeli tank fired on a watchtower in its headquarters in Naqoura, southern Lebanon, injuring two members.

"This morning, two peacekeepers were injured after an IDF Merkava tank fired its weapon toward an observation tower at UNIFIL's headquarters in Naqoura, directly hitting it and causing them to fall," said the UN agency in a statement, adding that the injuries are not serious, but remain in hospital.
