COLOMBO, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Irrigation Department warned of floods on Friday in some divisions of the Western Province due to heavy rain.

The department said in a statement that considerable rainfall had occurred in most of the catchment area of the basin of the Attanagalu Oya river.

The department added that there is a possibility of some of the roads getting inundated.

Sri Lanka's Department of Meteorology said on Friday in its forecast that the prevailing showery condition is expected to continue further in the southwestern part of the country due to the atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka. Enditem
