JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement Saturday that it killed 50 Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours in face-to-face encounters and directed air force strikes.

The IDF added that it targeted more than 200 Hezbollah targets including underground tunnel shafts, dozens of weapon storage infrastructures, rocket launchers, mortar bombs, and anti-tank missiles aimed at northern Israel localities and army forces. (Israel-Lebanon-Operations)

BEIRUT/JERUSALEM -- The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since the beginning of the Hezbollah-Israeli conflict on Oct. 8, 2023, reached 2,255, with injuries totaling 10,524, said the Lebanese health ministry on Saturday.

GAZA -- Gaza-based health authorities said on Saturday that the second round of the polio vaccination campaign in the central Gaza Strip is scheduled to start on Monday for three or four days.

During the second round of the campaign, an estimated 591,700 children aged under ten in Gaza will be vaccinated with a second dose, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on social media platform X on Friday. (Gaza-Polio Vaccination-Second Round)

GAZA -- The al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced on Saturday that they had killed and injured members of a 15-person Israeli patrol by detonating a powerful explosive device in northern Gaza City.
