CAIRO -- One person was killed and more than 20 others injured in a passenger train collision early Sunday in Egypt's southern Minya province, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry noted that 19 of the injured have been treated and discharged from the hospital, while two others remain under medical care. (Egypt-Train Collision-Casualties)

BEIRUT -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported on Sunday that two Israeli tanks destroyed the main gate of one of its positions in southern Lebanon and "forcibly entered" the site after blocking its movement the previous day.

"At approximately 4:30 in the morning, while the peacekeeping soldiers were in shelters, two Merkava tanks belonging to the Israeli army destroyed the main gate of the position and entered by force. The tanks left about 45 minutes later," UNIFIL said in a statement, referring to a position in the Ramyah area on the Lebanese side of the border. (Lebanon-UNIFIL-Israeli Attacks)

HOUSTON -- At least one person was shot dead and nine others were injured after gunfire erupted on Saturday near Tennessee State University, Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officials said.

The school was celebrating homecoming at the time. But MNPD Commander Anthony McClain clarified that the gunfire did not appear to be directly connected to the events. (US-Shooting)

KHARTOUM -- At least 23 civilians were killed and over 40 others injured in an airstrike on a main market in southern Khartoum on Saturday, according to local volunteer and non-governmental groups.

"The incident occurred when warplanes bombarded the Al-Souk Al-Markazy (central market) in Khartoum yesterday (Saturday) afternoon," the local volunteer group South Khartoum Emergency Room said in a statement on Sunday. (Sudan-Airstrike-Casualties) Enditem
