COLOMBO -- Over 33,000 new cancer patients were reported in Sri Lanka last year, according to a statement from the country's health ministry.

KABUL -- A total of 25 Afghan inmates imprisoned in Iraq have been set free and returned to their homeland, Afghanistan's Ministry for Refugees and Repatriation said on Saturday.

MACAO -- Sam Hou Fai was elected by an overwhelming majority as the sixth-term chief executive designate of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Sunday.
