KIEV, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The foreign ministers of eight Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8) visited Ukraine's southern city of Odesa on Wednesday to discuss support for Kiev, the Ukrainian government-run Ukrinform news agency reported.

The delegation met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to discuss Ukraine's newly unveiled "victory plan," as well as defense and energy issues.

After the meeting, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard announced that the NB8 countries will allocate 44 million euros (about 48 million U.S. dollars) to strengthen Ukraine's energy sector ahead of winter.

The funds will be used to purchase generators and solar panels, she said.

The NB8 is a regional cooperation format that includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. Enditem
