GAZA -- At least 33 Palestinians were killed on Friday evening by an Israeli airstrike on the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office said.

Among the killed were 21 women, and total fatalities may reach 50 due to many victims trapped under rubble and buildings. The bombing injured over 85 people, some of whom sustained serious injuries, the media office said in a statement. (Gaza Strip-Israeli Attack-Fatality)

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said it had discovered remains of a drone identical to a military unmanned aerial vehicle that South Korea showed during the Armed Forces Day parade, calling it decisive material evidence to prove South Korea committed a hostile provocation in violation of the country's sovereignty, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.

A spokesman for the DPRK Ministry of National Defense said on Friday that the Pyongyang Municipal Security Bureau of the DPRK Ministry of Public Security on October 13 discovered the remains of a crashed drone during a search operation in Pyongyang, the KCNA said. (DPRK-South Korea-Drone)

ADDIS ABABA -- The death toll from Africa's ongoing mpox outbreak has reached 1,100, with a total of 42,438 cases, including 8,113 confirmed ones, since the beginning of 2024, according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
