Myanmar earns over 170 million USD from fishery exports in H1

YANGON, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned 176.302 million U.S. dollars from exports of fishery products in the first half of the fiscal year 2024-2025, the state-run Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Saturday.

U Nyunt Win, director of the Fisheries Department in Nay Pyi Taw, was quoted as saying that the country exported over 160,000 tons of various fish to foreign countries during the April-September period.

The exports included more than 82,000 tons of fish worth 110 million dollars that were shipped through maritime routes and over 78,000 tons valued at 65 million dollars that were exported through borders.

Myanmar's seafood products are exported to countries including Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Australia, the report said. Enditem
