NEW DELHI, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Three international flights of Vistara airline and one belonging to Air India received bomb threats that turned out to be hoaxes, officials said Saturday.

Of the three Vistara flights, one was diverted to Frankfurt, Germany as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, the flights to London, Paris and Hong Kong from the national capital New Delhi received bomb threats on social media on Friday.

A Dubai-Jaipur Air India Express flight made an emergency landing at the Jaipur airport in the early hours of Saturday due to a bomb threat, which later turned out to be a hoax.

Reports said since Monday, nearly 40 flights operated by Indian carriers have received bomb threats, prompting authorities to take action. The threats, however, turned out to be hoaxes.

Previously, a series of hoax bomb threats have been sent to schools, airports, shopping malls and hospitals in the country. Enditem
