BEIRUT -- Nine people were killed and 10 others injured on Saturday in Israeli airstrikes on villages and towns in eastern and southern Lebanon, media and sources said.

The official Lebanese National News Agency said that five people were killed and seven others injured in an Israeli raid on a residential apartment in the town of Baaloul in western Bekaa. The mayor of Sohmor, Haidar Shahla, was among the dead, it said. (Lebanon-Israeli Airstrike-Death Toll)

ISLAMABAD -- Two terrorists were killed and five others arrested in two separate operations in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province over the last three days, according to the Pakistan Army on Saturday.

In Pishin district of the province on Saturday security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on the reported presence of terrorists, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. (Pakistan-Counter Terrorism)

ADDIS ABABA -- A total of 14 people are missing after a boat capsized on a lake in southern Ethiopia, according to local officials.

CAPE TOWN -- Five people were killed and two children were injured in yet another mass shooting in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, local police said Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the Eastern Cape provincial police, the killings occurred at around 8:30 p.m. (1830 GMT) on Friday in Bityi at the Ncenjana Location, Mthentu Administrative area outside Mthatha.
