GAZA -- At least 73 Palestinians were killed on Saturday by Israeli bombing in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office said.

The Israeli army bombed some residential areas in Beit Lahia, also leaving dozens of others wounded or missing, most of whom are children and women, the media office said in a statement. (Gaza-Israeli Bombing-Casualties)

ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Istanbul on Saturday, discussing the escalating conflict in the Middle East and defense cooperation.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on Saturday that "Iran's agents who tried to assassinate me and my wife today made a bitter mistake."

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese government on Saturday said it has agreed to open four additional airports for humanitarian agencies to deliver aid to the war-torn country, according to Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council.

The airports to be opened are in the cities of Kassala, Dongola, El Obeid, and Kadugli, said the sovereign council in a statement. (Sudan-Aid-Airports) Enditem
