NEW DELHI, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Unidentified gunmen killed seven employees of a private infrastructure company (six non-locals and a local doctor) and wounded five others in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Monday.

The non-locals worked as infrastructure workers at a construction site, while the doctor was associated with the company to provide medical care to its staff.

The attack took place Sunday late evening in village Gagangir in Ganderbal district, about 69 km northeast of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

According to police, the militants opened indiscriminate fire on the officers' mess and workers' mess, when all of them had assembled for the dinner. Enditem
