BELO HORIZONTE, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Mineiro manager Gabriel Milito has revealed the club is dreaming of Copa Libertadores glory as it prepares for its semifinal against River Plate on Tuesday.

The first leg will be played at Atletico's Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte and the return fixture is slated for October 29 at Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.

"When I accepted the challenge of taking on this job, I was immediately convinced of what the players in my squad would be capable of," the former Barcelona central defender told reporters.

"That was all of the encouragement I needed to take on the role. When I met the players for the first time, we agreed that our goal would be to play in as many finals as possible and to try to win them. But let's take it game by game first."

Milito's men reached the last four with a 2-1 aggregate win over Fluminense while River Plate progressed by defeating Chilean side Colo-Colo 2-1.

Atletico are aiming to lift South America's most important club trophy for a second time while River are vying for their fifth title.

"We have a big goal, a dream, which is the Libertadores," Milito said. "We are a very strong team, but we have a rival that also has a lot of quality. We need to play our best football and ensure that we are superior over the 180 minutes." Enditem
