WASHINGTON -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday maintained its global growth forecast in 2024 at 3.2 percent, consistent with its projection in July, its newly released World Economic Outlook (WEO) report said.

MANILA -- A speeding sedan car carrying five people rammed into a parked 10-wheeler truck in Rizal province, east of Manila, before dawn on Tuesday, killing one and injuring three, police said.

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani said on Tuesday that security forces killed the commander of the Islamic State (IS) group for Iraq and eight other senior leaders in an operation in a mountainous area of northern Iraq.

In a post on the social media platform X, al-Sudani said the operation was carried out by the Counter-Terrorism and National Security Services and targeted the terrorist hideouts in the Hamrin mountain range. (Iraq-IS Militant-Killing)

ANKARA -- Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization has detained three members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the semi-official Anadolu Agency reported Tuesday.
