Singapore's Changi Airport records 10 pct growth in passenger movements in Q3

SINGAPORE, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Changi Airport registered 16.8 million passenger movements from July to September, an increase of 10 percent compared to a year ago, the airport said Wednesday.

The airport recorded 92,100 landings and taking-offs in the third quarter, up 7.5 percent year-on-year.

Changi Airport's top five passenger markets were the Chinese mainland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and Thailand for the quarter.

Passenger traffic between the Chinese mainland and Singapore continued to post strong growth, recording a 50 percent increase year-on-year for the quarter, placing it as Changi's top source market, the airport noted.

The airfreight throughput in Changi Airport totaled 512,000 tons in the third quarter, up 13.5 percent year-on-year. Enditem
