BAMAKO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Malian President Assimi Goita has strongly condemned the attack that occurred Wednesday in Ankara, reaffirming Mali's solidarity with Türkiye.

"We firmly condemn the attack on the headquarters of Türkiye's defense industry in Ankara," Goita said on X, calling it a "cowardly assault on a key strategic partner."

The terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. in Ankara, the Turkish capital, claimed the lives of at least five people and injured 22 others, according to Türkiye's interior minister.

In recent months, Türkiye has expressed its support for Mali following violent incidents in Tinzawaten in northern Mali in late July, as well as terrorist attacks in Bamako, the capital of Mali, on Sept. 17, through its embassy in the West African country. Enditem
