HANOI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese consumers spend an average of 25.3 trillion Vietnamese dong (1 billion U.S. dollars) each month on online shopping on five e-commerce platforms, VnExpress reported citing market analysis firm Metric on Friday.
According to Metric, Vietnamese consumers spent 227.7 trillion dong (8.9 billion dollars) on buying items on Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Tiki and Sendo in the first nine months of this year, a rise of 37.66 percent over the same period last year.
In the third quarter alone, over 84.7 trillion dong (3.3 billion dollars) was spent by the Vietnamese on those e-commerce platforms, up 18.15 percent over the previous quarter.
The figures demonstrate the robust e-commerce market of Vietnam, said Metric.
Metric said the Vietnamese e-commerce market sees livestreaming and cheap goods on the rise.
Metric forecasts that total sales on the five largest platforms will be more than 80.6 trillion dong (3.2 billion dollars) with 870 million products sold in the fourth quarter. Enditem
