TORONTO, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes scored 16 of his team-high 27 points in the second half to lead the team to a 115-107 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.

The 23-year-old All-Star had an efficient night, shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 11-for-13 from the free-throw line.

After starting the season two nights ago with a 30-point blowout loss to Cleveland where he managed only nine points, Barnes and his teammates responded on both ends of the floor against Philadelphia.

On offense, the Raptors shot the ball well, going 35-for-76 (46.1 percent) from the field, compared to 36-for-87 (41.9 percent) on Wednesday. The team also dominated the paint, out-scoring the 76ers 56-to-30, compared to being outscored 68-to-38 two nights prior.

"A big thing for us was what we talked about in the last 48 hours was playing to our identity and working on that identity," said Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic after the win. "From defense, doing a good job on being physical and doing it the right way. I think that's what we really did tonight."

Rajakovic's group out-hustled the Sixers, crushing them in rebounds (54-to-28) and blocks (13-to-5). In addition, the Sixers were held to just 38.2 percent from the field, compared to the 58.6 percent the Cavs shot in Wednesday's opener.

Austrian big man Jakob Poeltl had nearly a double-double with 19 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Rookie Jonathan Mogbo, a 22-year-old rookie who was selected 31st overall in the most recent NBA draft, also grabbed nine rebounds and added 12 points and five assists in 24 minutes of action off the bench. He finished with a game-best rating of plus-21.

Toronto also got contributions off the bench from two other rookies, all playing their second-ever NBA games.

22-year-old Jamal Shead, who was drafted 14 picks later in the same draft as Mogbo, poured in 11 points for his second consecutive double-digit game.

Jamison Battle, an undrafted forward from Minnesota, provided a spark at the start of the fourth quarter with 10 points in five minutes before fouling out. The 23-year-old finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Enditem
