VILNIUS -- Lithuania's opposition Social Democratic Party (LSDP) won parliamentary election runoff on Sunday, according to preliminary results of the Central Electoral Commission.

GAZA -- Nine Palestinians, including three journalists, were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a school sheltering displaced persons in the al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, according to Palestinian sources.

TOKYO -- Following Japan's general election on Sunday, the ruling coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its partner Komeito will lose their lower house majority for the first time in 15 years, according to projections by public broadcaster NHK.

DAR ES SALAAM -- At least 113 people have died from cholera, and 7,190 others fallen ill with the disease in Tanzania as of Thursday this year, an official said on Sunday.
