BEIRUT -- Fifteen people were killed and 34 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon early Monday, according to media and military sources.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes struck a building in Tyre's al-Raml neighborhood, killing seven and wounding 17. Additional strikes in Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts killed three more and injured four. Rescue teams continue searching for survivors in the rubble. (Lebanon-Deaths-Israel)

YAOUNDE -- An attack by militants at an army base in Chad's Lac Province has killed at least 40 soldiers, the country's presidency confirmed Monday.

The attack occurred Sunday in Barkaram, an island of the province where the military base is located. (Chad-Soldier-Death)

TEHRAN -- An Iranian civilian has been confirmed dead following Israel's airstrikes near Tehran early Saturday, bringing the total death toll to five, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported.

The latest victim, Allahverdi Rahimpour, is the first civilian fatality reported after the deaths of four Iranian soldiers, according to the IRNA. (Iran-Civilian-Israel)

VILNIUS -- Lithuania's opposition Social Democratic Party (LSDP) won parliamentary election runoff on Sunday, according to preliminary results of the Central Electoral Commission.
