GENEVA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced the eight teams competing at the 2024 Women's Club World Championship, which will be hosted in Hangzhou, China from December 17-22.
For the second consecutive year, Hangzhou will host the event at the 8,000-capacity Huanglong Sports Center.
The eight clubs are: Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano (Italy), Numia Vero Volley Milano (Italy), Gerdau Minas (Brazil), Dentil Praia Clube (Brazil), Nec Red Rockets Kawasaki (Japan), LP Bank Ninh Binh (Vietnam), Zamalek Sporting Club (Egypt), and Tianjin Bohai Bank Women's Volleyball Club (China).
Conegliano signed Chinese top spiker Zhu Ting earlier this month to boost their chances of winning the title after securing the European Champions League this season.
Tianjin, who finished third last year, along with the two Brazilian teams, Dentil Praia Clube and Gerdau Minas, are also among the title contenders.
There are also some new faces in the event, including Japan's Red Rockets Kawasaki, who won the Asian Club Championship last month, as well as Vietnam's LP Bank and Egypt's Zamalek. Enditem
