BERLIN -- Germany announced Thursday it will close all three Iranian consulates on its territory in response to the execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, a German-Iranian dual national.
Iran accused Sharmahd of involvement in a mosque attack, and the Iranian judiciary announced his execution this week. He was "held for years without a fair trial before he was executed," according to German authorities. (Germany-Iran-Diplomacy)

BEIRUT -- Israeli airstrikes on Thursday killed 13 people and injured five others in eastern and southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese Civil Defense sources.
Among the fatalities, four were reported in Bodai town, three in Deir al-Zahrani village, two in Dibbine village, three in Sohmor town, and one in Qaraoun village, said the Civil Defense sources, adding that a child was among the injured. (Lebanon-Israeli Airstrikes)

MADRID -- The death toll from rain-triggered flash floods in Spain has risen to at least 158, according to emergency rescue services in the country on Thursday afternoon.

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) conducted a "crucial" test of its latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Hwasongpho-19 on Thursday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Friday.
The missile flew a distance of 1,001.2 km for 5,156 seconds before landing on a preset area in the open waters off the country's east coast, and the test-fire had no negative effect on the security of neighboring countries, the KCNA report said. (DPRK-ICBM) Enditem
