Latvia, Estonia discuss security, economic cooperation

RIGA, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina met here on Friday with her Estonian counterpart Kristen Michal, and they discussed cooperation within the European Union (EU) framework and support for Ukraine's bid to accede to the bloc.

At a news conference after their meeting, Silina said Latvia and Estonia would seek additional EU funding for the Rail Baltic railway project.

Regional security and NATO-related matters, as well as economic cooperation were also discussed during the Estonian prime minister's visit, according to the Latvian governmental press service.

The Estonian prime minister started his visit on Friday morning by joining Latvian officials at a military base in Adazi to observe a NATO 5G technology experimentation event. Enditem
