BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Spain's World Cup winner Sergio Ramos could join Boca Juniors on a free transfer, according to media reports in Argentina.
The 38-year-old has held preliminary talks with Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme and manager Fernando Gago, TyC Sports reported on Friday.
Gago, who took charge of Boca Juniors last month, was Ramos' teammate at Real Madrid from 2007 to 2012 and the pair have maintained a close friendship, according to the outlet.
It added that the Buenos Aires giants have offered the central defender an annual salary of five million euros (around 5.4 million U.S. dollars).
Ramos, who was an integral part of the Spain team that won the 2010 World Cup and successive UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012, has been without a club since parting ways with Sevilla in June. Enditem
