COLOMBO, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's National Building Research Organization (NBRO) issued early landslide warnings on Tuesday for multiple areas across eight districts, as heavy rainfall continued to impact parts of the South Asian country.

The NBRO said that the warnings will remain in effect until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Level 1 (Amber) and Level 2 (Yellow) warnings have been issued for several areas within these districts, according to the NBRO.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology has forecast rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters for most parts of the island on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Center (DMC) reported that more than 300 people had been affected by heavy rains as of Tuesday noon. Enditem
